My letter to parents

Dear parents and prospective students,

My goal is to change the college application and admission process from one wrought with pressure and ​anxiety to one of self-discovery, ease, and an excitement for the future for your child. There are nearly 4,000 ​colleges and universities in the US alone, each offering its own unique character, philosophy and experience. ​I will help your student to figure out what they are looking for in a post-secondary school experience and ​prepare a list of colleges and universities that accurately reflects them and offers them a range of likely ​acceptance. Furthermore, I will work closely with them on preparing all aspects of their application until the ​final submitted product is one that they are proud of and increases their odds of getting in to more ​challenging, rigorous and competitive colleges and universities.

I have 20 years of experience as a high school teacher. I develop strong relationships with my students ​characterized by trust, respect, and mutual enjoyment of each others’ company. I have seen two of my own ​children through the college application and admission process and have a third child beginning the process. ​I have spent countless hours researching all aspects of the process and have developed a solid curriculum ​that includes exercises that will help your student to better understand themselves; their values, what brings ​them joy, who they are. These fundamental exercises will provide them with a strong foundation to write a ​stand-out personal statement. My educational background, my hours of research into what sets an ​application essay apart from the others, and my twenty years of editing student work will help me to polish ​their personal statement essay until it gleams. To further my professional development in the field of college ​admissions consulting, I have become an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants ​Association (IECA) and have received a professional certificate from the National Association for College

Admission Counseling (NACAC) in College Admissions for Emerging Leaders.
